AT&T LG Thrill 4G

Posted by ADMIN Tuesday, October 18, 2011 0 comments

The new AT&T LG Thrill 4G cell phone is identical to Optimus 3D, it would be the most powerful Android phone at the time of release. I have looked very hard at this phone. LG makes some powerful phones…The world is going mad, 3D Smartphones are the next big thing. First the HTC HD7S and now the LG Thrill 4G. Looks like AT&T is going to have a great line up on phones this year!
The AT&T LG Thrill 4G cell phone features include a glasses-free 4.3-inch stereoscopic 3D display, dual 5-megapixel stereoscopic camera, 16GB of preloaded memory (8GB onboard, 8GB microSD card), microSDHC support.  the LG Thrill 4G will record 3D video at 720p resolution and 2D at 1080p quality and 4G speed capability.

In addition to apps and games from Android Market, LG Thrill 4G will offer 3D content via the "LG 3D Space,"  which houses 3D games, video clips and images for quick, convenient access.  Cann’t wait for the LG thrill 4G to come out. The Thrill 4G runs Google Android 2.2 Froyo OS.

Samsung Galaxy S II

Posted by ADMIN Saturday, October 15, 2011 0 comments

The new AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II is now on sale for $200 with 2 yeat contract. It’s $149 on Amazon, but you’ll have to wait another excruciating two days to get your hands on it. And, $164 at Walmart.com (probably cheaper in the brick and mortar store). The Galaxy S II has very good battery time for running an OS that keeps apps running in the background.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II cell phone is so thin and lightweight you won’t even realize it’s in your pocket. Voice quality is superb. The dual core processor makes the phone perform at lightening fast speeds. The 8MP rear camera takes excellent photo. The 2MP front facing camera is also great, to be a front facing camera. It has the latest and best version of Android 2.3.4. This phone is excellent for browsing, playing music and watching videos. The 4.3-inch screen shows very clear texts and photo with the Super Amoled screen.

Overall I would highly recommend this phone to a family member or friend. My co-workers love how light and thin this phone is and I totally agree.

The new Motorola DROID HD/Spyder is going to need to come with stock Android OS and good battery life to compete with Galaxy Nexus. A 4.3-inch display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 4G LTE. Almost and I said almost same specs as Nexus. Hmm this may be cheaper too. Not sure if it has a 720p display but same goes for Nexus.

We knew good and well this thing was coming sometime in November, and now Verizon Wireless has made it official: the Motorola DROID will hit Big Red on November 6th for $199 on contract (after a $100 mail-in rebate). Naturally, the DROID itself is just the first of what could be many Android-laced phones coming to the carrier, and Verizon Wireless CMO John Stratton even stated that the phone "is wide open" -- pretty big words from a company like VZW. Android 2.0 will be front and center, along with Visual Voicemail, a 3.7-inch display (854 x 480 resolution), 5 megapixel camera (with dual-LED flash), a bundled 16GB memory card and a beta version of Google Maps Navigation(!). For those wondering, yeah -- the DROID is the first phone to offer that, which transforms Google Maps into a turn-by-turn routing system that'll have your dedicated TomTom / Garmin trembling in fear. There's also a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3G, WiFi, voice-activated search and over-the-air Amazon MP3 downloads.

The new Google Nexus Prime looks very beatiful, I like the design of its appearance, I think  the arc-shaped appearance is full of creative idea. I highly doubt the Prime will make it to all carriers. I think it should be going to all carriers but looking at past Nexus, it seems like its going to stay an exclusive to one carrier and months later be released to another and then another.

It has passed the FCC with AT&T radios.  It may be exclusive to Verizon for a month.  Their version passed the FCC a month before AT&T’s.  Just a hunch.  Doesn’t matter.  Christmas, Hanukkah or whatever you celebrate will still be delightful.

Design and Specifications

The design looks very interesting, I guess we will find out exactly what it looks like next week, so far we have heard that the Google Nexus Prime will features Android Ice Cream Sandwich, plus a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and the display is said to feature curved glass.

Other specifications on the Samsung Nexus Prime include a TI OMAP 4460 dual core Cortex A9 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of built in storage and a microSD card slot.

The Samsung Nexus Prime will also come with the advanced 5 megapixel camera that we heard about previously and the camera will be capable of recording Full HD video in 1080p.

There will also be a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera, and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus will also feature LTE/HSPA support, NFC, plus 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth, plus it will come with a 1,750 mAh battery.

The Verizon Samsung Stratosphere cell phone is now on sale for $149.99 with 2-Year contract. Its definitely a middle of the
road phone by today’s standards. As nice as it is to see
nother 5 row keyboard slider out there, it’s just a bit lame
to see them pretty much rehash the Sprint Samsung Epic 4G
with an improved keyboard.

Samsung stratosphere specs

If you look at the image of the Stratosphere android smartphone it reveals that it has a nice QWERTY keyboard. Feature-wise, the new samsung stratosphere 4g will come with a WVGA display (possibly Super AMOLED Plus), Android Gingerbread OS, 5MP rear camera, and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. For your kind of information that Samsung Stratosphere will be the Verizon’s first 4G LTE slider.

HTC Explorer

Posted by ADMIN Monday, October 10, 2011 0 comments

An entry-level Android device, the HTC Explorer is another good reason not to settle for a "dumb" feature phone and to go for a smartphone instead.

Although this is a new device, in hardware terms it is almost identical in specification to the existing HTC Wildfire S, except for a downgraded camera. Most of the differences are in software, the HTC Sense environment has been significantly updated with social networking tools and a refreshed user interface.

Even though the Explorer and Wildfire S are closely related, the indications are that the Explorer will be much cheaper, competing directly against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Mini which currently retails for about €135 SIM-free.

The HTC Explorer has a 3.2" 320 x 480 pixel touchscreen display and a 3 megapixel camera on the back. The 600 MHz processor isn't fast when compared with high-end devices, but the 512MB of RAM should be enough to run several applications at once.

HTC Explorer Other features include an FM radio, multimedia player, GPS with turn-by-turn navigation, WiFi, 3.5G support and Bluetooth plus all the usual Android smartphone features and access to thousands of applications in the Android market. Despite the relatively basic feature set, the HTC Explorer is still a very powerful and capable device and makes an ideal first smartphone.

Inside is a 1230 mAh battery quoted as giving up to 7.5 hours talktime and 18 days standby time on 3G. The whole package measures 103 x 57 x 13mm and weighs 108 grams.

HTC say that the Explorer should be available in Europe and Asia from Q4 2011 onwards in "Metallic Black", "Active Black" and "Metallic Purple" colours.

Apple iPhone 4S

Posted by ADMIN 0 comments

Almost identical in outward design to the original iPhone 4, the Apple iPhone 4S has a better camera, faster processor, advanced speech recognition and a new version of the iOS operating system for an improved user experience.

Although there are several major improvements, many potential customers will be disappointed to learn that the iPhone 4S retains the very sharp but slightly small 3.5" 640 x 960 pixel panel of its predecessor. High-end competing devices have larger screens, typically 3.7" to 4.3" or so, but perhaps we will have to wait for the iPhone 5 if we want a bigger display.

On the back is an 8 megapixel camera with a redesigned sensor to improve picture quality. Although previous iPhones have always tended to be a little on the low side when it came to the megapixel count, iPhones have always produced good quality pictures and this looks set to continue. Camera phones can be very slow, but the iPhone 4S takes just 1.1 seconds to take the first photo and 0.5 seconds between shots, which easily beats most of the competition. The camera is also capable of 1080p HD video recording.

The operating system has been upgraded to iOS 5, which has several improvements. Home screen notifications (a bit like the Metro interface on Windows Phone), the very interesting location-based reminder system, tabbed browsing, instant synchronisation of photographs across devices and very much improved mail. Improved iCloud integration is a key feature of the new iPhone as well.

Apple iPhone 4S A novel feature of the new operating system is "Siri", a voice recognition system that is designed to understand natural language, allowing for free-form commands and queries, to which it draws on a variety of sources (such as Wolfram Alpha and  Yell) to provide information. Siri will work in English, French and German at launch, although you can be sure that other languages will be supported in time. Although modern Android devices have good speech recognition built-in, it looks like Apple have raised the stakes here in the same way that they did with video calling and the original iPhone 4. We expect that competitors will be working very hard to catch up.

One issue with the old iPhone 4 was the antenna design which could sometimes drop calls. The iPhone 4S can now automatically switch between antennas to improve reception, and as a bonus maximum download speeds on HSPA are now 14.4Mbps, in line with most of the competition.

The processor is an Apple-designed CPU called the "A5", based on the common ARM architecture used in most mobile phones worldwide, with a dual-core CPU which is pretty common these days in high-end handsets, except here Apple have also given it a dual-core graphics processor which makes games run up to seven times quicker. Despite the faster processor, the battery life has been improved - talktime is quoted as 8 hours on 3G, with 10 hours of video playback or 40 hours of music.

Apple iPhone 4S There will be 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions of the iPhone 4S available, in the US these will cost $199, $299 and $399 respectively when taken with a 2 year contract. Apple have also adjusted the original iPhone 4 to make it cheaper, cutting the flash memory to 8GB and the price tag to $99 with a new contract. You will still be able to get the iPhone 3GS, which will now be free in the US with a contract.

One highly unusual feature is the inclusion of both CDMA and GSM standards in one phone. For customers on CDMA networks in the US (Verizon Wireless for example, and now also the Sprint network), they can use the phone worldwide with the addition of a GSM micro-SIM. It's of less use to customers outside the US where CDMA is very rare, but we guess that it simplifies manufacturing a lot.

Apple say that the iPhone 4S should be available in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany and Japan from October 14th onwards, with most of the rest of Europe by the end of the month, and by December it will be available on 100 carriers in 70 countries.

HTC Sensation XL

Posted by ADMIN 0 comments

The bigger brother to the new Sensation XE, the HTC Sensation XL is just what the name suggests - an extra large version of the already powerful Sensation smartphone.

The key feature here is the 4.7" 480 x 800 pixel Gorilla Glass touchscreen display, coupled with a 1.5 GHz single-core processor and 768MB of RAM and 16GB of non-expandable flash memory. On the back is an 8 megapixel camera with a large 28mm lens and dual LED flash, capable of 720p HD video recording. On the front is a 1.3 megapixel camera to make video calls with.

In many ways, the HTC Sensation XL can be regarded as the Android version of the forthcoming Windows-based HTC TITAN, another powerful big-screen smartphone.

This is an Android 2.3 smartphone with all the usual features that you'd expect to see from an HTC Android device. The Sensation XL includes Beats Audio for improved sound quality.. sound quality so good that HTC spent $300m securing the rights to use it.

Despite the large display and fast processor, the HTC Sensation XL isn't quite the monster that the Samsung Galaxy Note is when it comes to size and performance, but the HTC is certainly a nicer looking handset with significantly better audio capabilities.

HTC Sensation XL All the usual Android features are here such as GPS, WiFi, 3.5G connectivity, Bluetooth, USB support, a 3.5mm audio socket and a massive library of applications available from the Android Market. With the fast processor and large amount of RAM, you can be sure that the Sensation XL will cope with everything that you can throw at it.

At 162 grams and 133 x 71 x 10mm, the Sensation XL is a little on the large and heavy side, but that's the price you pay for a big display. Inside is a large 1600 mAh battery which HTC say can provide up to 6.8 hours talktime and 15 days of standby time on 3G, but you may get substantially less depending on what you use your phone for.

It's a shame that the Sensation XL doesn't have expandable memory. Although there's 16GB of internal flash, after the OS has taken some of it there is less than 13GB available for the user. That is quite a lot, but recently Apple raised the stakes with a massive 64GB of memory in the new iPhone 4S.

This is a powerful and very desirable device, but it has the misfortune of being the first major product announcement after the iPhone 4S. Although the Sensation XL's big screen is something the new iPhone can't manage, we feel that Apple's new iOS 5 HTC Sensation XL makes Android 2.3 look a bit old-fashioned. Also, next week we may be seeing the first Android 4.0 launch with a new Nexus handset from Samsung, and the rumours are that the end of the month may see the first official announcement of Nokia's new Windows Phone line. So, impressive though the XL is, the competition has become more intense.

HTC say that the Sensation XL should start shipping in early November in Europe and Asia Pacific countries. There will also be a limited edition package including special edition Beats Solo headphones. No guidance was given on price, but we would expect the Sensation XL to retail for about €650 at launch, SIM free.
